I had the same noise in my '87, I did the same thing I took the headlight apart and found nothing loose, but I did figure out that the chrome ring on the outside of the bulb it's self vibrates against the headlight housing, so I put a bead of silicone around the inside of the chrome ring and then reinstalled it and that took care of that. .........Scorpion..........
